{Biography}

Sharon Alexander has performed extensively throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania in summer stock, dinner theater and regional theater.

I began my musical training at an early age, and attribute my love of music and performing to my talented parents.  Singing with my Dad, with my Mom as accompanist, we traveled around to hospitals, nursing homes and churches, putting on our little “musicales”.  I always had my kazoo nearby, which added another dimension to our performances!  I was lucky enough to study with a first rate voice and piano teacher, and consequently was accepted to Westminster Choir College, where my love of performing was fostered.  Then on to Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music, and the Philadelphia Musical Academy (now University of the Arts), where I earned a M.M. in Performance.  My dream was to be an opera singer – until I was cast as Guenevere in a community theater production of “Camelot” – and the rest is history!  I fell in love with musical theater, and am still in love some 30+ years later.  My work has been mainly in Philadelphia area theaters (Walnut, Arden, Bristol Riverside, Media, Prince), but I have also traveled to Ohio, Long Island and Lancaster’s Fulton Theatre.  I live in Ewing, NJ, with my husband, Ray, our black lab, 2 cats, and our hysterical African Grey parrot, Lily.  My proudest accomplishment is my son, John, who lives in Atlanta with his wife, Jenny!
